Useful Hacks to Find Time to Blog When Life Gets Busy
1. Make Blogging a Priority in Your Life
Unless you make blogging a priority, you won’t see momentum and growth. This is what you want to do. Maybe, blogging is your passion or you want to take it as a full time job to make money.
The point is that blogging should be on your priority list.
You cannot build a successful blogging business if you treat it as an afterthought. Like any business, it requires commitment, consistency, and a sense of urgency. That means setting aside dedicated time, doing important tasks without procrastination, and treating your blog like it’s your job—because if you want it to grow is something.
While you have a job, or children, you are committed to blogging. Set realistic goals for yourself and make your plans based on that. Even if it only takes one hour a day.

You’ve read it a hundred times…

Yes, you have to do all that to grow your blog. But, it starts with one thing at a time.
Break down your big blogging tasks into smaller actions.
Let’s say…We want to create more content.
- Brainstorm blog post ideas based on categories
- Determine what type of blog post you intend to write (Every blog post can have a different goal)

As you can see there is a lot to one blogging job. Instead of procrastinating, start with one task and do it.
Use your 30-60 minute block to check off one item on your to-do list.
3. Use Your Phone to Do Small Tasks
Go through your to-do list and start using your phone wisely. I have an Iphone and I use the Notes App all day. It really helps me to write down thoughts and ideas as they come into my head. I also use Google Docs to continue writing my pending blog posts. And, the best thing, I often answer important emails from my phone.
You can do things like;
- Blog comment
- Connecting with people on social media
- Write a small email in your notes section
- Provide email responses
- Collect ideas for blog posts
- Listen to the podcast
- Write your blog post
- Record a youtube video
- Record your voice and thoughts
4. Write 300-500 Words Every Day
If you have to give only one piece of advice then writing every day. It has a lot of weight. No matter how busy your schedule is, make time to write. Even if you have 30 minutes, start writing. Use your phone or laptop, but just write. Those little snippets of writing will keep you relevant on your blog.
- It will also help you stay consistent with your writing and blogging.
- It helps to reveal your creativity and writing skills.
- It makes you write faster and better.
I’ve published a post where you learn some great tips for writing a blog post in 60 minutes or less.

5. Use a Planning Calendar
If you don’t have a plan or calendar, you spend time thinking about what you should and shouldn’t do. With limited time hours, it’s important to use a planning calendar or project management apps like Asana, Trello, Monday and Airtable.

Use these apps to set your goals, and create a to-do list to achieve them. Or, use your notebook or journals to organize content. As simple as that.
Although I love using these apps, I still prefer my notebooks every time.

6. Set Deadlines and Reminders
Time is not running out, that’s why you need to work smart. Set clear deadlines for your tasks and hold yourself accountable. As you complete each one, check it off—it’s a simple habit, but it brings a sense of accomplishment and momentum. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing progress, and this little habit can keep you motivated to keep going.
Some examples would be;
- Finish writing in 90 minutes
- Create a new lead magnet on Tuesday, the 17th.
- Design 20 pins in 60 minutes
When you set a deadline, you commit to a task. I personally find reminders, and timers work very well for my blogging tasks. That way, you don’t end up doing other unnecessary things.
7. Combine Blogging with Other Activities
When life gets busy, finding dedicated time to blog can feel impossible. But what if you didn’t have to break up blogging from everything else? Instead of waiting for the “perfect moment” to sit down and write, try to combine blogging with other daily activities.
For example, when you go to work, use that time to brainstorm blog ideas or dictate your next post using a tape recorder. If you like to exercise, listen to blogging podcasts or audiobooks to learn new techniques while on the go. Even household tasks, such as cooking or cleaning, can be times to organize mental content or refine your ideas.
With toddlers, you can work while they sleep. (I think it’s only time)
You can also turn everyday experiences into blog inspiration—whether it’s a lesson from a personal challenge, an interesting conversation, or an observation from everyday life.
By integrating blogging into your existing routine, you won’t feel like you need to anymore more time to create content. Instead, blogging becomes a natural part of your day, making it easier to stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.
There you have it.
Remember, it’s not about having it More time; it’s about using your time do be wise.
