Respondology introduces Reply to turn comments into a competitive advantage

Respondology, provider of a social media comment moderation and analytics platform, today announced the launch of Answeran artificial intelligence-powered platform that interacts with social media comments to capture audience attention.

Over 97% of user comments are not answered by the company, not because brands don’t care, but because responding is a manual process, and they can’t keep up. Most of the audience’s emotions are present in the comments on social networks, such as X, TikTok and Instagram, and within product reviews and other spaces.

It may seem like these comments are from users blowing the air, but they are not. According to Respondology’s internal data, approximately 68% of consumers read reviews before making a purchase decision. Almost half, about 47%, associate toxic or unanswered questions and comments that are poorly addressed with indifference from the product itself. A poorly attended product category can lead to a bad reputation.

Some of the most popular brands on social media are those that respond to Twitter comments with humor and wit, such as Wendy’s and Taco Bell. But a brand doesn’t need to stand out as hip or street to be in the trenches with its audience to exist.

To close this gap, Respondology built a solution that uses AI agents trained in the company’s brand voice that act as interns to scan comments across the platform, classify comments by purpose – purchase questions, fan sessions, feedback, support requests – and respond authentically.

The company said agents avoid canned chatbot responses. Many algorithmic systems produce content that looks manufactured, static or out of place, which can be viewed negatively by the audience. However, the brands are walking a tighter tightrope than I expected.

Many brands are facing a growing problem where audiences are becoming more wary of messages sent on social media. Many push back against automatic and intuitive AI responses from product sources and conspiracy theories Increasingly, algorithmic bots are outperforming humans in public spaces.

Respondology 5 million dollars in capital by mid-2025 to assist brands in selecting and measuring comments and shaping their social media presence. The next section helps them manage their messages.

The company said the purpose of Respond as an agent AI tool is to give brands a way to reach audiences at a higher level, understand emotions and stay ahead of spam, without being yet another algorithmic result.
