Cyera acquires Ryft to provide businesses with traceable data access to AI agents

Artificial intelligence and data security company Cyera Ltd. announced today that it has acquired Ryft Data Inc., an Israeli startup that has built an automated data platform for businesses deploying AI agents.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although Globes reports that market sources estimate the acquisition to be worth between $100 million and $130 million.

Founded in 2024, Ryft provides a platform that enables fast, secure access to business data while automatically analyzing how that data is accessed by both employees and AI agents. The platform automates the authorization, classification and development of information and is built on an open source standard, allowing customers to retain control of their data without vendor lock-in.

Ryft’s managed layer handles configuration, compliance, disaster recovery and management automatically by removing the engineering overhead typically required to keep data operational and audit-ready. The combination is positioned as an AI-friendly data pool capable of supporting agent workloads that require access to clean, well-managed and traceable data at scale, rather than the loosely managed data swamps that are common in enterprise environments.

The company’s platform is designed to sit alongside existing query engines and analytics tools without forcing customers to migrate data or commit to a proprietary stack. Architectures also provide security and compliance teams with a consistent view of what data AI agents are accessing, what permissions they have used and what actions are being followed, a capability that faces challenges as agency systems multiply across business areas.

The acquisition adds agent-friendly data pool capabilities to Cyera’s data security platform as enterprises race to deploy autonomous AI systems that access, analyze and act on sensitive business data. Cyera said the agreement will accelerate the roadmap to deliver traceable, secure data access for agent AI at scale.

Ryft CEO Yossi Reitblat will lead the AI security operations at Cyera after the deal closes, with the Ryft team creating a new group focused on the convergence of AI, data and information security.

“The Ryft team brings deep expertise in the convergence of data and AI and will play a key role as we build a unified data and AI control plane to help businesses deploy agent AI safely and quickly,” said Tamar Bar-Ilan, co-founder and chief technology officer at Cyera.

Coming to its acquisition, Ryft raised $8 million in funding from investors including Index Ventures SA and Bessemer Venture Partners.

The deal is Cyera’s fourth acquisition in five years and comes after the company raised $400 million in new funding in January at a $9 billion valuation.
